December 4, 2013 Colonia Board of Fire Commissioners Agenda Meeting
The agenda meeting of the Colonia Board of Fire Commissioners took place at the Colonia Firehouse on December 4, 2013. The meeting was called to order by Board President Ray Hughes followed by a moment of silence for departed members.
Notice of the meeting was advertised in the Home News Tribune and the Asbury Park Press and at Town Hall.
Commissioners present: Ray Hughes, Jr., Jim Souza, Ed Sheehan, Bill Higgins, Sr., and Bill Higgins, Jr.
Chief Mackey introduced a new fire fighter to the Commissioners.

Insurance, Commissioner Hughes, Jr.
I have a list of what the insurance company paid out for some of our claims. Chances are we are
probably going up about 5%.
Alarms/Radios, Higgins, Jr.
Commissioner Higgins passed out a sheet to everyone from Motorola that shows what they need for their console downstairs. It is going to cost $140,604.00. We will need,to bring Stephanie in here to discuss some of the information that is on here. She will have the quote for the furniture which includes delivery for $8,312.00.That is the price right now until we talk to Stephanie.
Spoke with Chris the painter. He is coming by Saturday to look at the radio room. He will bring some samples with him so we can choose what paint color we want.
Trucks/Equipment, Commissioner Sheehan
Commissioner Sheehan had a couple of repairs done on the ambulances. Bills were submitted to
Commissioner Souza. The ambulance is on order.
Commissioner Hughes sent the PO out. The cost of the new ambulance is
$114,206.00.
Doing some work on 12-21. All the work on the cars were completed except for 12-33 which is being done this week.
Commissioner Higgins, Jr. reported that 12-35 is having some problems with the back wheels wobbling.
Commissioner Sheehan will look into it. He doesn't want to put a lot of money into it.
Mitch will be starting the yearly services.
Old Business
Commissioner Hughes gave an update on where they are at with looking into ordering a new chief's car.
He looked at the state contract on line and it is 33 pages long. Commissioner Sheehan would like to review it.
Commissioner Higgins, Jr. discussed last month about upgrading the computer system. Commissioner Hughes spoke with Ed Mullen and they have someone they use as well Woodbridge uses. Commissioner Higgins is going to call Ed and get a price.
Commissioner Souza went over a couple of items with the budget for 2014.

Higgins, Jr. Motion passed by a unanimous vote.
