The agenda meeting of the Colonia Board of Fire Commissioners took place at the Colonia Firehouse on September 5, 2012 at 7:35 pm. The meeting was called to order by Board President Ray Hughes followed by a moment of silence for departed members.
Notice of the meeting was advertised in the Home News Tribune and the Asbury Park Press and at Town Hall.

Also Present: Firefighter Kershaw, Firefighter Karabin, G. Reilly (First Aid), Firefighter Giardina, Firefighter Lorenzen, L. Higgins (First Aid), and E. Giardina (First Aid)

Will discuss quotes for painting.

I met with the Chief to discuss the percentages. Told the Chief to write letters to those who are low and see what their intentions are.

Motion to adjourn meeting was made by Commissioner Sheehan and seconded by Commissioner Higgins, Sr. at 7:45 pm. Motion passed by a unanimous vote.

A motion was made by Commissioner Souza and seconded by Commissioner Higgins, Jr. to accept the minutes of the August 8, 2012 meeting. The motion was unanimously passed.
The rules of the meting were suspended to see what the visitors needed.
Firefighter Karabin
He met with two new explorer applicants. He is waiting on completed paperwork and they will be at the Company meeting tomorrow.
Colonia Soccer Club
Would like to use the hall for a spaghetti fundraiser for the Colonia Soccer team. A date of October 14th was approved by all Commissioners.
EMS Report, L. Higgins
Handed out September schedule and phone list. Laura explained the handout and the lack of manpower.
Chief's Report, M. Kershaw
Percentages were given out. Commissioner Souza spoke to the Chief and will make an announcement and there will be members pulled into the Chief's office to discuss why the percentages are low.
Looking for five members to get new gear in the fall.
Looking to purchase new Granger gloves. They are around $18.00. Commissioners will look at them down in Wildwood.
Buildings and Grounds, Commissioner Higgins, Sr.
Received a couple of quotes for the paint job. The painter doing the first aid will have a quote for us on Monday.
Roof outside men's room is leaking. A roofer is coming in and checking it out.
Backroom needs to be cleaned. A recommendation was made to have it done on drill.

Spoke to the Chief about a couple of guys regarding their low percentages.

Mirror on 12-34 is on back order.
12-31 went out for repair for the engine light.

Five sets of gear are on order.

Commissioner Higgins, Sr. would like to have the Fire Company meeting held downstairs tomorrow night so the Fire Exempt meeting can be held upstairs and the older firemen can use the elevator.
