July 10, 2019 Colonia Board of Fire Commissioners Agenda Meeting

The Agenda meeting of the Colonia Board of Fire Commissioners took place at the Colonia Firehouse on July 10, 7:30 pm. The meeting was called to order by Board President Ray Hughes followed by a moment of silence for departed members.

Notice of the meeting was advertised in the Home News Tribune and the Asbury Park Press and at Town Hall.

Commissioners present: Joe Fugaro Bill Stellmach, Ed Sheehan, Bill Higgins, and Ray Hughes

Buildings and Grounds, Commissioner Higgins

The floor and lighting in the bay was completed today. Waiting on two proposals for the floor waxing.

There was a problem with the use of the opener at the SQAD that Commissioner Higgins fixed.

Still going back and forth with the Township and waiting for sample radios. Colonia is going to buy the radios from Pinnacle where the Township is purchasing them from.

Personnel, Commissioner Fugaro

A couple of guys were brought in to see the Chief for their poor percentages.

Trucks and Equipment, Commissioner Sheehan

Some of the lights are out on 12-21. They are hard to replace. Will be going to LED lighting.

The A/C on 12-3-4 is fixed.

12-3-5 needs a new alternator.

Commissioner Hughes spoke about the strobes on the truck. There are 3 of them. Waiting to hear back from Mitch on price and then will make a decision.

Purchasing, Commissioner Hughes

Need to replace some hose since they had a hose fail. Need to replace three lengths.

Old Business

Commissioner Stellmach signed the contract to hire the engineer regarding the water and curb sidewalk issue.

New Business

Caucus meeting will be held on August 7 7:30 pm at the Woodbridge Community Center. Andrew Mazzarella will be running again.

A motion was made by Commissioner Higgins and seconded by Commissioner Sheehan to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 7:40 pm.
