January 4, 2017 Colonia Board of Fire Commissioners Agenda Meeting
The agenda meeting of the Colonia Board of Fire Commissioners took place at the Colonia Firehouse on January 4, 2017 at 7:30 pm. The meeting was called to order by Board President Ray Hughes followed by a moment of silence for departed members.
Notice of the meeting was advertised in the Home news Tribune and the Asbury Park Press and at Town Hall.
Commissioners present: Ray Hughes, Bill Higgins, Jr, Bill Stellmach Ed Sheehan, and Joe Fugaro
Building and Grounds, Commissioner Higgins
Carpet tiles were installed today downstairs.
There have not been any leaks since the roof was fixed. The heaters for the gutters
were finished.
Fire Inspector was here at the Fire house last month. We need to check the generator
load check. Everything else that was in question was taken care of.
Batteries went dead and commissioners were not able to get into their office. Locksmith
had to be called in to open doors.
Water and Hydrants, Commissioner Stellmach
New hydrants were installed at Heritage.
Insurance, Commissioner Hughes
Workers comp policy is no longer on the state. Should see a savings.
Personnel, Commissioner Fugaro

Trucks/Equipment, Commissioner Sheehan
Commissioner Sheehan spoke with Mitch and 12-2 needs a total complete service. Radio was repaired on 12-31.
Purchasing, Commissioner Hughes, Jr.
Gear is in. Will bring it to the fire house on Tuesday.
Old Business
Firemen's room and the shed are completed.
Need to move on putting 12-1 out for sale.
Kitchen/Bathroom - Mike Testa is doing the prints for the bathroom. Prints for the kitchen are already done. Will go out to bid on both jobs after the budget is approved. Will try and schedule the jobs over the summer.
A motion was made by Commissioner Higgins and seconded by Commissioner Fugaro to go ahead with doing both the bathroom and kitchen. Motion passed.
Motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:44 pm was made by Commissioner Higgins and seconded by Commissioner Sheehan. Motion passed by unanimous vote.
