September 3, 2014 Colonia Board of Fire Commissioners Agenda Meeting
The agenda meeting of the Colonia Board of Fire Commissioners took place at the Colonia Firehouse on September 3, 2014 at 7:36pm. The meeting was called to order by Board president Ray Hughes followed by a moment of silence for departed members.
Notice of the meeting was advertised in the Home News Tribune and the Asbury
Park Press and at Town Hall.
Commissioners present: Ray Hughes, Jim Souza, Ed Sheehan, Bill Higgins, Sr., and Bill Higgins
Also Present: Firefighter Giardina, Chief Stellmach, G. Reilly (First Aid)

Insurance, Commissioner Hughes, Jr.
Insurance was put on new engine effective Friday in the amount of $600,000.00
Alarms and Radios, Commissioner Higgins, Jr.
Commissioner Higgins said the portable radios that were sent out to get checked and will take about a week to see if they can do it and how much it will cost.
Commissioner Higgins according to Stephanie we do not need to order new radios yet since we will still be able to get parts for the radios we have now for another five years.
Personnel, Commissioner Souza
Joe Nisky and Commissioner Souza had a meeting reading the First Aid and confirming that the Township will be ready to take them over January 1, 2015 and Joe assured Commissioner Souza they will be ready.
Rick Caposiena is no long a firemen because he is closer to getting onto Newark fire department and need to be at his address there in Newark.
Trucks and Equipment, Commissioner Sheehan
12-21 generator is out of unit It will be out of service for 7 to 8 weeks.
The new engine should be here on Friday.
All vehicles are in process of being serviced and cleaned.
Purchasing, Commissioner Hughes, Jr.
Everything has been ordered.
Old Business
Commissioners talked about phones last month and approved it. Check was written and sent out. Will do installation of new phone system after Wildwood.
Going with Fiber Optics so process has started with installation.
New Business.

Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Commissioner Sheehan and seconded by Commissioner Higgins, Jr. at 7:49pm. Motion passed by a unanimous vote.
