August 13 2014 Colonia Board of Fire Commissioners Agenda Meeting
The agenda meeting of the Colonia Board of Fire Commissioners took place at the Colonia Firehouse on August 13, 2014 at 7:32 pm. The meeting was called to order by Board President Ray Hughes followed by a moment of silence for departed members.
Notice of the meeting was advertised in the Home News Tribune and the Asbury Park
Press and at Town Hall.
Commissioners present: Ray Hughes, Jim Souza, Ed Sheehan, Bill Higgins, Sr. and
Bill Higgins, Jr.
Also Present: Firefighter M. Mackey, Firefighter B. Bausch, Firefighter C. Chandler and
M. Mizak.
Communications: Commissioner Sheehan said they received a thank you card in reference to the passing of Commissioner Souza's mom.

Received prices for the new phone systems.
Furniture was installed. Waiting for Wunder to finish and still need to fix the back wall.
Personnel, Commissioner Souza
There are questions on the grant and how we will work it out. They need to wait for
Firefighter Giardina to attend meeting to discuss it.
Trucks/Equipment, Commissioner Sheehan
12-21 will be out of service for service for 6-8 weeks for the repair on the generator.
12-23 is having a new battery put in in addition to an oil and filter change. All other ambulances and units are being cleaned.
Purchasing,Commissioner Hughes
Nothing on back order. Commissioner Hughes spoke to Iselin 11 in regards to the glasses and they have a dr. that does it.
Old Business
Commissioner Higgins had Wunder in to look at the doors and lights. There is an issue with the lights. If we leave a door open the light will stay on. Wunder suggested a light beam (sensor) in between each bay. Light will only come on when a truck back in. Commissioners agreed to have Wunder put light beams in.
Commissioner Souza pointed out the new table and chairs are in for the Commissioner meetings.
Commissioner Higgins questions whether the new exhaust would have to be moved on the new ambulance. Will need to send ambulance out to Atlantic tire. Dealer won't do it.
Commissioner Hughes gave an update on the wireless cameras for all the vehicles that would cost approximately $100.00 - $300.00.
New Business
Commissioner Hughes talked to the town in regards to the Cad line. They suggested to go with Fiber optic line to the screen. Would cost $14,000.00 for one time shot.
Motion to adjourn meeting was made by Commissioners Sheehan and seconded by
Commissioner Higgins, Jr. at 7:50pm. Motion passed by a unanimous vote.
