December 4, 2013 Colonia Board of Fire Commissioners Regular Meeting

The regular meeting of the Colonia Board of Fire Commissioners took place at the Colonia Firehouse on December 4, 2013. The meeting was called to order by Board President Ray Hughes followed by a moment of silence for departed members.

Notice of the meeting was advertised in the Home News Tribune and the Asbury Park Press and at Town Hall.

Commissioners present: Ray Hughes, Jim Souza, Ed Sheehan, Bill Higgins, Sr., and Bill Higgins, Jr.

Things are running and going ok.
Commissioner Hughes mentioned that he noticed the lights in the back were on all day today. Makesure the switch is where it is supposed to be if it is there is something wrong.

Chief's Report, M. Mackey
Could not hear his report. The Commissioner's thanked him for doing a good job.

Treasurer's Report, J. Souza, Jr.

A motion was made by Commissioner Sheehan and seconded by Commissioner Higgins, Jr. to accept theTreasurer's Report. Motion passed by a unanimous vote.

Buildings and Grounds, Commissioner Higgins, Sr.
Firefighter Stellmach is supposed to give us a price on two A/C units and one is an A/C and heater unit.

Alarms and Radios, Commissioner Higgins, Jr.
A decision needs to be made about the furniture for the radio room.
A motion was made by Commissioner Sheehan and seconded by Commissioner Higgins, Jr. to approve the spending of $8,312.00 on the new console and furniture for the radio room. Motion passed by a unanimous vote.

Commissioner Higgins will speak with Stephanie tomorrow regarding the CADsystem and will call the township about it as well.

Trucks and Equipment, Commissioner Sheehan
The truck and the ambulance are both on order.

Purchasing, commissioner Hughes
Everything that has been approved to be ordered is in.

Commissioners went over budget for 2014 and some adjustments were made.
A motion was made by Commissioner Hughes and seconded by Comrnissioner Higgins, Jr. to introduce the budget for 2014. Motion passed by a unanimous vote.
