March 2, 2016 Colonia Board of Fire Commissioners Regular Meeting

The regular meeting of the Colonia Board of Fire Commissioners took place at the Colonia Firehouse on March 2, 2016 at 7:34 pm.   The meeting was called to order by Board president Ray Hughes followed by a moment of silence for departed members.

Notice of the meeting was advertised fin the Home News Tribune and the Asbury Park Press and at Town Hall.

Commissioners present: Ed Sheehan, Bill Higgins, Sr. Bill Higgins, Jr. and Ray Hughes.

Excused: Jim Souza

Also Present: Chief Mackey, Firefighter Giardina President Garett

There are a couple of guys who are still low with their percentages. Will speaking with two guys.

Ricky Caps was supposed to fix the off button on the GEMS radio and it wasn't done. Commissioner Higgins going to find out about and talk to Ricky.

Firefighter Dougherty will be ordering three first aid kits and two defibrillators.

FDIC and Tennessee trips were both approved. No one can go to the FDIC trip so they will be sending four guys to the Tennessee trip.

No explorers will be allowed to go out on apparatus for Parkway calls.

12-3 door is back on the vehicle. Stripping is on order.

Purchasing, Commissioner Hughes, Jr.

Helmets that were ordered are in.

Old Business

A motion was made by Commissioner Higgins, Sr. and seconded by Commissioner Hughes to switch the doctor that the fire department uses.

Commissioner Sheehan and Commissioner Higgins, Sr. will be looking into a new roof for the firehouse.

Mike Testa is the architect for kitchen and bathroom.
