September 4, 2013 Colonia Board of Fire Commissioners Agenda Meeting

The agenda meeting of the Colonia Board of Fire Commissioners took place at the Colonia Firehouse on September 4, 2013 at 7:30 pm.  The meeting was called to order by Board President Ray Hughes followed by a moment of silence for departed members.

Notice of the meeting was advertised in the Home News Tribune and the Asbury Park Press and at Town Hall.

Commissioners present:  Ray Hughes, Bill Higgins, Sr., Bill Higgins, Jr., Jim Souza Eddie Sheehan

Also present: Firefighter Stellmach, Firefighter Lorenzen, L. Higgins, (First Aid)

Buildings and Grounds, Commissioner Higgins, Sr.

Commissioner Higgins, Sr. is working on a few projects and will bring it up at the regular meeting.

Commissioner Higgins talked with Stephanie on getting prices for the radio room.  Will bring it up in further detail at the regular meeting.

The seat on 12-31 had a rip and was repaired.

The pump test is done and completed.

Purchasing, Commissioner Hughes

Helmets that were ordered are in. 

Four of the five guys went to get their new boots.

Old Business

Commissioner Souza gave an update on the outside sign.  He was able to get the price down from $33,000.00 to $27,499.99.  Commissioner Souza is trying to get the work done through shared service with the Township for a 10 year period.  At the regular meeting a vote will take place to see if the Commissioner’s want to go into the shared services with the Township.

Commissioner Hughes suggested when they go to Wildwood they work out the best deal they can for a new engine and then call the company in Texas that Mike suggested to purchase their new engine and see if they will take money off of that price.  Hopelawn is going to be purchasing their new engine from the same place in Texas.

Motion to adjourn meeting was made by Commissioner Sheehan and seconded by Commissioner Higgins, Jr. at 7:47 pm.  Motion passed by a unanimous vote.
