July 5. 2017 Colonia Board of Fire Commissioners Agenda Meeting

The agenda meeting of the Colonia Board of Fire Commissioners took place at the Colonia Firehouse on July5, 2017 at 7:30 pm. The meeting was called to order by Board President Ray Hughes followed by a moment of silence for departed members.

Notice of the meeting was advertised in the Home news Tribune and the Asbury Park Press and at Town Hall.

Commissioners present: Ray Hughes, Bill Higgins, Jr, Bill Stellmach, Joe Fugaro Ed Sheehan

Buildings and Grounds. Commissioner Higgins. Jr.

The floor at the First Aid Squad was taken care of. The floors look like wooden floors.

Spinello fixed the hose problem that the Squad had out front.

The A/C was taken care of at the Squad as well.

Water and Hydrants. Commissioner Stellmach


Insurance. Commissioner Hughes


Alarms and Radios. Commissioner Stellmach

Six pagers were ordered and are in.

The problem the Chief had in his vehicle with his radio was an electrical issue.

Personnel. Commissioner Fugaro


Trucks and Equipment. Commissioner Sheehan

Wipers on the Towers were fixed and the socket on 12-3-3 was fixed.

Purchasing. Commissioner Hughes

Gear is in and there is one mounting plate on order.

Old Business

The kitchen went into the newspaper today. The walk thru is scheduled on July 15. The bids for the job will be opened on July 25. Commissioner Stellmach ordered 8 sets of prints.

East Orange backed out on the old 12-1 and we haven't heard from Carteret. Will bring up under regular business to donate it to Ohio.

New Business

The Commissioners received a resignation letter from firefighter Schleck. He will no longer serve as the Fire Official. Commissioner Higgins read his letter in its entirety.

A motion was made by Commissioner Sheehan and seconded by Commissioner Higgins to adjourn the meeting at 7:41 pm. Motion was passed.
