June 1, 2016 Colonia Board of Fire Commissioners Agenda Meeting

The agenda meeting of the Colonia Board of Fire Commissioners took place at the Colonia Firehouse on June 1, 2016 at 7:30 pm. The meeting was called to order by Board President Ray Hughes followed by a moment of silence for departed members.

Notice of the meeting was advertised in the Home News Tribune and the Asbury Park Press and at Town Hall.

Commissioners present: Ed Sheehan, Bill Higgins, Jr., and Ray Hughes.

Excused: Jim Souza

A motion was by Commissioner Higgins, Jr. and seconded by Commissioner Sheehan to accept Bill Stellmach as a new commissioner. Motion was passed and Bill Stellmach was sworn in.

New member V. Pires who was a member at District 9 was introduced to the Commissioners. Will be sworn in tomorrow at Company meeting.

Michael Greve came back as a new member. He will be presented to the Company tomorrow. We are going to make sure that if he doesn't keep up with is probation he is automatically off the Company.

Buildings and Grounds, Commissioner Sheehan

We have one Company that is looking at doing our roof. We will send information over to our lawyer Braslow and then will have a quick meeting to open up any bids we get.

Architect is still working on the design for the kitchen. We are going to have to actual specs.

Water and Hydrants, Commissioner Higgins, Jr.

Progress

Insurance, Commissioner Hughes, Jr.

We had a meeting with our Insurance Company and they reviewed our stuff. We are lacking some information in respect to our hall rentals and driver's training.

Alarms/Radios, Commissioner Higgins, Jr.

Commissioner Higgins needs to call Pinnacle to get radios for So. Plainfield done. Also will be doing Union County and Perth Amboy.

Trucks and Equipment, Commissioner Sheehan

The rescue was repaired.


Generator is in for 12-21.

12-2 out with a light problem. Will be going to Absolute tomorrow.

Purchasing, Commissioner Hughes

Gears are ordered. Will order the helmet parts if it wasn't done already.

Chief Mackey wants to replace all the computers in the vehicles.

Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by commissioner Sheehan and seconded by Commissioner Higgins at 7:41 pm. Motion passed by a unanimous vote.
